Stones in a Glass House 2022, Foto Wien

This work grew out of my daily difficulties in reading and understanding the German language. When I used Google Translate to translate texts, I noticed that the camera's scanner is sensitive to light and movement. So when I change the exposure or move my phone, the German letters change into Persian and start to move and change shape. So I took a screenshot and then photographed it with an analog camera. In the end, I scanned the negatives and printed my image using the flat-printing technique. For me, this work is like a look behind the facade of my everyday challenges. It shows the process of reading and understanding. When I read in another language, it often happens that I lose the connection to my surroundings. Although I am physically anchored in the here and now, I am often mentally distant, like the floating Persian letters on my screen.
