Influx of a Second is a work inspired by common characters of humans and animals like sheep, as we share common traits such as infinite hair growth and being social beings. In this work felt pieces that were made from sheep wool serve as surfaces to carry pictures. To create a light sensible surface, photo emulsion was applied on the top of these felt pieces. After treating the felt with photo emulsion, I placed my hair on top and exposed it to light for a second. Subsequently, the felt was developed in darkroom chemicals to reveal a photogram of my hair.
Throughout the process, there is a moment when the felt emerges with my hair during its exposure to light, except in the areas that are covered by my hair. That one-second exposure is the moment when my hair turns white the sheep's wool turns black, and we switch places.
